It’s all about youth culture and a sense of coming of age. My photography of the subject originates from an interest and curiosity for that stereotyped inventory of poses, attitudes and looks that are commonly adopted and substitute the conventional portrait of the single individual with psychological traits and peculiar characteristics of a given subject. I’ve always been interested in the different subcultures and characters one encounters in life. Translating these urban and suburban choreographies on to film, means doing it with certain rawness, a naiveté, one senses upon discovering something new. It’s always a delicate balance between being sexy, romantic, and classic as well as being a bit dangerous.
