Little no more! British-Sri Lankan songtress M.I.A has had a very BIG 2007! Not only did she record an album in such places as India, Australia and Trinidad, she was voted by Rolling Stone magazine as the number ONE album of the year! Quite a feat, as she beat out heavy-hitters such as Kanye West, Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, Amy Winehouse, and Britney Spears. Only her second album to date, M.I.A also embarked on a world-wide tour of her unique sound that mixes everything from hip-hop, pop, jungle, new-wave, SriLankan temple music and the ever glam of Bollywood disco. Miss Thing was quite a hit in NYC, as her shows were sold out here in September. Definatly a hit for the clubs, the urban outfitters of NYC, the lounge/bar trolls of the wed-thrus set, and the dancing queens of Christopher st, the album hit a cord with all. The new anthem of NY, "HUSSEL" mirrors the truth about the main reason why this is the city that never sleeps. I mean really!
